Installation & Configuration Of VMware & Create a new VM

1- First Install the "VMware ESXi 4.1" on server
(It would ask some basic things like linux for installation)

2- Set the password (default pwd is blank), ip address and hostname so you can work further for the VM's

3- Install "VMware vSphere Client" on your system

4- After installation run the application then it would ask three things, the servers detail would be entered here:
IP Address / Name
User
Password
Note: Server and Client are installed and now next step is to install "Virtual Machines"

5- Now you can see the ip address which you had assigned to server.

When you click/select it you can see the option "Create a new virtual machine" click this option.

6- New window would be open select "Custom" option and select next

7- Enter the name of the VM and click next >>> then it would show the datastore (space) click next

8- Select the Virtual Machine version 7 and click next

9- Select the OS which you need to install on this VM and click next

10- Enter the no of processor (let the default settings go) and click next >>> Assign the RAM as per requirement and click next >>> default selection for the NIC and click next >>> default selection for the SCSI controller and click next >>> Create a new virtual disk and click next >>> Assign the disk space and click next >>> click next >>> Check the edit option and click continue >>> For installation purpose click on "New CD/DVD option" and selec the host device option if you are doing installation from server optical disk and check the option "connect at power on" >>> and click on finish

12- Now select your installed vm and click on "Power on the virtual Machine"

13- Now you can see in the console tab that your system is started and OS setup is started.
